Online or in person Counselling in Bristol

Welcome

Hi, I’m Imogen – a qualified integrative counsellor offering safe, supportive counselling sessions in Bristol and online.

There’s no right or wrong reason to come to counselling. Whether you're dealing with a specific event, a build-up of experiences, feelings of overwhelm, sadness, anger, anxiety or a sense of not belonging or not knowing, counselling can help.

Have a look around to learn more about how I work, and if you’d like a chat to see if we could work well together, please get in touch for a free consultation. I’d be happy to answer any questions and see how I can support you

Why Counselling?

Counselling offers a non-judgmental, supportive space for you to explore what’s going on for you. Through this process, you can begin to make sense of your experiences, build greater self-awareness, strengthen your sense of self-worth and begin to find a deeper sense of peace within yourself.

I believe the magic ingredient to healing,  self-discovery and growth is a genuine, empathic connection between counsellor and client. I aim to build a safe, trusting relationship, to create the conditions for you to explore your struggles and move towards positive change.

About Me

My journey to becoming a counsellor began in my teenage years, when I faced my own mental health challenges along with struggles with dyslexia.

Receiving counselling at that time was truly a lifeline for me – it showed me the power of being heard,  accepted and supported without judgment. This set me on a path to become a mental health nurse, working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD and other mental health challenges. I went on to specialise in supporting people with eating disorders and their families.

In 2015, I set up a charity that supports refugees and asylum seekers. Through this I have deepened my understanding of trauma and working in a trauma informed way, providing an environment where people feel safe, valued and motivated.

As a mum to twin boys and a daughter, all now adults, I have an appreciation of life’s complexities as a parent. This has also strengthened my knowledge of neurodiversity, particularly the challenges of ADHD.

All these experiences have taught me that every person’s journey is unique. I work without judgment, believing that a deep, trusting therapeutic relationship can be a powerful foundation for change, healing and personal growth.

"Imogen has got me looking at things in a completely different way than any other therapist ever has. I can now see how my eating is linked to my emotions and past experiences, which has been such a huge breakthrough for me. She gently challenges me in ways that really make me think and grow, but always in a kind and supportive way. I finally feel like I’m starting to understand myself and make real changes, thanks to her."

Qualifications

Qualifications

Integrative therapy is a blended approach to counselling that brings together techniques from different therapeutic models to best support you as a whole person. It’s like having a toolbox to draw from, rather than following one single method.

My work is person-centered, meaning our sessions evolve as you do, allowing us to explore your thoughts, emotions, patterns and behaviours, in a space where you feel safe to be yourself and move at your own pace.

I draw from a range of therapies Including person-centred, Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support your unique needs, personality and situation.
